UNT Political Science Official Statement #BlackLivesMatter

The Department of Political Science is deeply saddened at the senseless killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor, among many, many others. We are distraught that acts of violence against black Americans persist, and remain frustrated that change seems nonexistent. Today, we join others in condemning racism in all its forms. We call for systemic reform to our police. We support peaceful protests that demand social justice and advocate for the protection of these protestors' civil rights and liberties. We encourage everyone to vote to elect candidates who will act on our calls for reform.
