The Vivian Castleberry Trailblazer Scholarship

We're pleased to announce that the Castleberry Peace Institute is ready to accept applications for our new scholarship, the Vivian Castleberry Trailblazer Scholarship. We raised $100,000 to endow this scholarship that recognizes outstanding student leaders. The Vivian Castleberry Trailblazer scholarship will be awarded to one advanced student each year who is working on peace related projects, human rights work, engaged in applied research/scholarship and similar types of activities that are basically aimed at making the world a better place. As the name of the scholarship implies, we are looking for students who want to be "trailblazers" and desire to be a leader making a difference. We are especially interested students who are interested in work that addresses gender and violence/peace, but this scholarship is not confined to just political science majors. There is more information on the scholarship in the attachment.

The scholarship is for $4000.00 and is for one year. Please contact Dr. James Meernik (meernik@unt.edu) or stop by Wooten Hall 125 for an application.

Thanks very much!
