The Domingo Garcia Scholarship honors Domingo Garcia and provides funds for Political Science students.

To be eligible for consideration, an applicant for the Scholarship must possess the following characteristics:

• Meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences in effect at the time of any award.
• Maintain full time enrollment at the University, unless the applicant has fewer than twice the number of semester hours required to be full time remaining in their degree program.
• Enroll as a full-time student in Political Science at the University; in the event no applicant possesses this characteristic, then students enrolling full-time in the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences at the university will be eligible for consideration.
• Preference shall be given to students with a GPA of between 3.0 and 3.5.
• The student is active in community service.
